INFOGRAPHIC: One Of The Biggest Challenges Facing... →
malonetaylor:
Before you go bashing on homeless kids, consider some actual facts. They are far more likely to be LGBT, far more likely to have been sexually abused, far more likely to suffer from mental health problems. That means they are far more likely to use drugs and alcohol. Trans* kids are even more likely to face challenges than LGB teens. Most teens who are homeless aren’t lazy bums,...

Reflection Time
Self: I still can't believe you did it.
Me: I can't believe no one has said anything to me about it yet. I was definitely expecting some negative or at least abrasive comments to be thrown my way.
Self: What made you do it?
Me: I don't know.
Self: Hmmm. Interesting.
Me: I really do not know.
Self: Well has life changed any?
Me: Life is the same. The way I perceive myself within my life is totally different. I feel empowered... I've always had major respect for those who came out of the closet and were prepared to battle any and everyone who stood against them and their happiness.
Self: So what one word would you use to describe your "Coming Out" experience?
Me: A BLESSING- For years I've prayed for deliverance. God eventually answered my prayers. He just didn't do it how I expected. He delivered my mind. After developing and maturing my own spiritual relationship with God, I have an understanding and an interpretation. I pray that I'm right. If I'm wrong, I pray that He shows me mercy.
Self: Amen.
Me: Amen.
Struggling with coming out to my Parents...
halfwaytowhere:
I have never shared much with my parents so I’m really struggling with coming out to them. I have known for a while that I am gay and I am 100% comfortable with it but I still have no idea how I’m meant to tell my parents. If anyone has any advice can you please message me. It’s a massive weight on my shoulders and it’s making it difficult and awkward for me to be around them.
